1. Introduction
SharKNX is a mobile application developed by OWL Automata. The application is a tool for monitoring and managing KNX installations.
Previously, SharKNX operated with zero data collection. In this version, we have introduced RevenueCat to manage user entitlements (such as "Grandparent" status for existing users who purchased the app previously) and to support future subscriptions. Outside of this specific technical necessity, the app remains focused on local-network privacy.
2. Technical Data Collection (Subscriptions & Entitlements)
To manage your access to premium features or "Grandparent" status, SharKNX uses RevenueCat. This requires the limited collection of the following data:
- User Identifiers: An anonymous, unique ID is generated to identify your account. This is not linked to your name, email, or identity.
- Purchase History: We verify transaction tokens from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to confirm your purchase history and unlock features.
- Device Identifiers: Non-personal hardware identifiers are used to ensure your status works across your devices and to monitor app stability.
Note: We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number. All payment processing is handled securely by the App Stores; OWL Automata never sees or stores your credit card information.
3. Data Usage & Necessity
We collect the data mentioned in Section 2 solely because it is a technical requirement for:
- Granting "Grandparent" status to users who purchased the app prior to the subscription model.
- Managing and validating in-app subscriptions.
- Basic app functionality and stability analytics.
4. Local Operation (KNX Installation)
Aside from the subscription management mentioned above, SharKNX remains a local-first tool:
- Local Traffic: Communication with KNX devices happens entirely within your local network (via standard protocols like UDP/TCP).
- No Cloud Storage: Your KNX configuration and installation data stay locally on your device.
- No Activity Tracking: We do not track your specific interactions with KNX devices or monitor your daily usage habits.
5. Data Sharing
SharKNX does not share your information with third parties for marketing or advertising. Data is only shared with:
- RevenueCat: Our service provider for subscription management and entitlement verification. You can review their privacy practices at RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
6. Data Deletion
